• The 4E1 to Ethernet Converter bi-directionally converts one Ethernet channel to one, two, three or four G.703 E1 channels.
• The converter acts as a high performance, self learning Ethernet bridge, learning and storing MAC addresses and forwarding or blocking packet passage to the other side of the bridge according to the position of the various MAC addresses on the network.
• The converter provides Link Error Code supervision. If any of the E1 links becomes errored beyond a specified error threshold, that E1 link will be disabled for traffic until the error rate reduces to acceptable levels.
• The converter has provisions to set local and remote loopbacks of the Ethernet traffic for diagnostic purposes.
• Ethernet packets will not be lost due to the disconnection of E1 channels or errors occurring on the E1 channels.
